The NHS Improvement Society was a national pressure group which from 2005 until 2011 campaigned for

keeping NHS services as local as possible

rejecting the unnecessary privatisation of NHS services

 a clinically-driven rather than target-driven NHS

a vision for an NHS that puts patients before finances

defending vital NHS services

working with the public and health professionals to create a more effective NHS

The group ceased operating in 2011 but the website archive will remain as a tribute to the many activists and campaigners who gave so much of themselves.
