Chase Farm Hospital latest: Anniversary picket planned
from WIlliam Westwell
Following the highly successful march through Enfield last November, the campaign to save services at Chase Farm Hospital has continued to gather support. Pressure from campaigners has been successful in pushing back the closure decision but nothing is finished yet.
The North East London Council of Action has been organising monthly pickets at the hospital. The NECA will be holding its one-year anniversary picket outside Chase Farm Hospital on April 15 from 7am to 2 pm.
If anyone can come and support, or if you would
like to send a message of support to be read out,
then that would be most welcome,
The Save our NHS Group has kept an interest in
developments at Chase Farm. Andrew
Billson-Page, who has sent a message of
support to the picketers, said: "Across the country,
many of us have been campaigning against cuts
to vital NHS services. We need to stand together -
to fight for our communities, our hospitals and
our services. More importantly we need to stand
against the ill-conceived plans to privatise
sections of our NHS."
