Our aims

Our main aims and objectives are:

Nationally

* To oppose PFI schemes, which are essentially mortgaging the future of the NHS

* To campaign against privatisation within the NHS and promote a health service

  in which care is genuinely free at the point of need.

* To promote a vision of an NHS which is adaptive to meet the changing health needs of

  British Society

* To promote patient rights - in particular to receive the best possible care as locally as

  possible and as specialised as necessary.

Locally

* To inform and educate the public about the realities currently being experienced

  within the NHS.

* To support the maintenance and continued improvement of local NHS services.

Political parties

* Although we have differences in outlook, as much as possible we aim to work and

  co-operate with all political groups and trade unions to achieve the above aims.
